Meet Dr. Anita M. Jackson, Founder and CEO
The Woman Behind CrownHER Rise
If we met for the first time, you might first notice the degrees, years of experience, businesses I've built, stages I've spoken on, or the books and publications I've helped bring to life. I'm deeply grateful for every one of those experiences because each chapter has shaped who I am today. But if I'm honest, those accomplishments tell only part of my story.
Behind every title, every achievement, and every milestone was a woman who, over time, quietly began losing herself beneath the weight of responsibility, expectations, service, and success. For decades, I dedicated my life to helping others heal, grow, lead, and achieve their goals. Yet somewhere along the journey, I realized I had become disconnected from the very woman I was encouraging others to become.
That realization would eventually change everything.
A Lifetime of Leadership
For more than two decades, I have had the privilege of serving women, entrepreneurs, leaders, organizations, and communities through mental health, higher education, leadership development, business strategy, publishing, and personal transformation. My professional journey has been wonderfully diverse, allowing me to combine faith, psychology, education, business, and leadership into work that has impacted thousands of lives.
Throughout my career, I have served as a mental health professional and private practice owner, Assistant Professor of Human Development and Assistant Professor of Business, business coach and leadership strategist for more than twenty-two years, leadership consultant, entrepreneur, and publisher for nearly two decades. I've had the opportunity to host both television and radio programs, author and publish books, mentor entrepreneurs and aspiring authors, and speak on stages alongside respected leaders and internationally recognized speakers.
Every opportunity has stretched me. Every role has taught me something new about people, leadership, resilience, and purpose. Looking back, I can clearly see that God was preparing me for work I couldn't yet imagine.
Success Looked Good...Until It Didn't
From the outside, my life appeared successful. I had earned the degrees, built the businesses, accepted the speaking invitations, and created a career that many people admired. I genuinely loved serving others and believed deeply in the work I was doing.
Yet beneath those accomplishments was a quiet reality that very few people could see.
Like many highly capable and deeply responsible women, I became incredibly skilled at carrying the needs of everyone around me while slowly neglecting my own. I knew how to lead, coach, teach, encourage, solve problems, and keep moving forward no matter what life required. What I didn't realize was that the very drive that had helped me accomplish so much had also begun separating me from myself.
It wasn't that success was wrong, nor was ambition. The problem was much more subtle. Somewhere along the way, my identity quietly became intertwined with what I accomplished instead of who I was. Titles became easier to recognize than my own needs. Serving others became more natural than receiving care myself. Productivity slowly replaced presence, and I became so accustomed to doing that I forgot how to simply be.
I don't think I'm alone in that story.
In fact, I believe there are countless women who look incredibly successful on the outside while quietly wondering where they disappeared along the way.
The Turning Point
When the world came to a halt during the COVID-19 pandemic, my own life began asking questions that no degree, title, or professional accomplishment could answer.
Like so many others, I watched everything slow down almost overnight. Speaking engagements stopped. Coaching shifted. Business changed. For the first time in many years, I had the space to honestly evaluate not just my work, but the way I had built it.
I realized something that was difficult to admit.
My business depended almost entirely on me.
If I wasn't speaking, teaching, consulting, coaching, or creating, the business slowed down. While I had built a meaningful career serving others, I hadn't built something that could continue supporting my life or my mission if I needed to step away.
That realization planted a seed I couldn't ignore.
Then life slowed me down even more.
Losing my mother forever changed me. She had been one of my greatest sources of love, wisdom, encouragement, and strength, and her passing created a grief unlike anything I had ever experienced. Not long afterward, I also lost my uncle while navigating significant financial hardship and several deeply personal life transitions that challenged nearly every area of my life.
Grief has a way of stripping life down to what truly matters.
For the first time in many years, I wasn't asking God how to build a bigger business or reach a larger audience. Instead, I found myself asking different questions.
How do I want to live?
What kind of legacy do I want to leave?
What would I build if my deepest motivation was no longer achievement but stewardship?
Who am I beneath everything I've accomplished?
Those questions became the beginning of my healing.
As I slowed down, I began studying the relationship between the nervous system, emotional healing, faith, identity, leadership, and sustainable success. More importantly, I began living what I was learning. I discovered that healing wasn't about becoming someone new. It was about returning to the woman God had always created me to be before striving, responsibility, grief, and endless expectations slowly covered her.
I learned to regulate instead of simply pushing through. I learned to receive instead of constantly giving. I learned that my worth had never been determined by another accomplishment, another degree, another stage, or another business success. Most of all, I learned that stewardship is very different from striving.
That journey became Back to Yourself.
Why I Created CrownHER Rise
As my own healing deepened, I realized something that would eventually become the vision for CrownHER Rise.
I didn't want to build another coaching business.
I wanted to build a home.
I wanted to create a community where women could gather consistently, build meaningful friendships, heal together, grow together, and encourage one another through every season of life. I wanted to create something that wasn't dependent on one person's performance, but rooted in relationships, shared wisdom, and genuine belonging.
I also realized that every woman carries a story worth telling.
Not just the polished chapters.
Not just the moments of success.
But the heartbreak, disappointments, losses, reinventions, and unexpected detours that shape us into who we become.
For so many years, I believed my greatest contribution would come from my education, experience, or expertise. Today, I believe one of the greatest gifts we can offer another woman is our story. When we have the courage to tell the truth about our lives, we give someone else permission to believe they are not alone. We remind one another that healing is possible, purpose is never lost, and no chapter of our lives is ever wasted in the hands of God.
That is why CrownHER Rise exists.
It is more than a membership.
More than a coaching program.
More than a magazine.
More than events or retreats.
It is a community built on the belief that women flourish when they are seen, supported, encouraged, and reminded of who they truly are. It is a place where healing and leadership can coexist, where faith and practical wisdom walk hand in hand, where business is built through stewardship instead of burnout, and where success is measured not only by what we accomplish, but by the lives we touch and the legacy we leave behind.
At CrownHER Rise, we believe every woman's story has purpose. Every chapter has value. Every experience—even the painful ones—can become part of something beautiful. God wastes nothing, and neither should we.
Whether you're joining us to heal, build your business, write your story, develop your leadership, or simply find a place where you belong, my hope is that you'll discover what I discovered—that sometimes the most courageous journey we will ever take is not becoming someone new, but finding our way back to ourselves.
My Commitment to You
If you choose to become part of CrownHER Rise, I want you to know that you are joining a community led by someone who has lived this journey. I don't promise perfection, and I certainly don't have every answer. What I do promise is that I will continue learning, growing, and stewarding this community with integrity, excellence, compassion, and faith.
My commitment is not to help you become someone else. It is to create spaces where women feel seen, valued, encouraged, challenged, and deeply supported as they rediscover the life God intended for them. I will continue investing in resources, relationships, experiences, and opportunities that help women heal, grow, lead, and rise with confidence and peace.
Thank you for allowing me to share my story with you.
It is my prayer that as you continue your own journey, you never underestimate the value of your story. Your experiences, your losses, your victories, your questions, and your healing all matter. They are shaping a legacy that may one day become the very hope another woman needs.
Welcome home.
With deep gratitude and so much love,
